Nathalie Khayat

Lebanese ceramist, started working with clay while living in Montreal in 1993.

+ Education & Experience

  • She retuned to Lebanon in 2000 where she opened a studio in Beirut , and started to teach ceramics. Since 1995, she has shown her work in Montreal , Beirut, South Korea, London, Paris, Dubai, New York, Los Angeles… In 2016 she went to New York and worked during two years in a community clay studio, where she was able to research and share experiences with other ceramic artists. The work she has been preparing will be shown in a solo show in 2019.
  • While still attached to the functionality of ceramics and the place it occupies in daily rituals, Nathalie is increasingly exploring the sculptural aspects of her forms. Her vessels, while being deconstructed, open a poetic dialogue with the clay- a contemplation, a projection from inner silence to exterior landscapes, from stillness to movement.
