Vanessa Dammous | Caravan

Vanessa Dammous lives and works in Beirut, Lebanon. She’s a practicing architect and a faculty member at the department of architecture and design at the Lebanese American University. Her background is multidisciplinary and combines architecture, scenography and product design. In addition to her passion for teaching architecture and design, she works as an independent ceramicist.

In 2019, she established her studio Caravan_beirut that reflects her architectural influence but is mainly driven by a sensorial experimentation. Her work has been featured in several international and local exhibitions, including 1000 Vases in Milan (2021), Artists of Beirut (2022), as well as Green Cedars and Roads for Life fundraiser events in Beirut (2023). She also participated in Beirut Design Week and Collect design fair in London (2024). Her work blends form and function, and features intricate ceramic pieces from tableware and vessels, to product design such as lighting pieces and mirrors, wall installations, and side tables. Each piece reflects her commitment to pushing the boundaries of clay artistry across the functional and the aesthetic realm.
